Everyone was a winner at the fifth annual Miss Arc Broward Pageant.
The pageant, which serves to empower girls with disabilities, recently took place at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale.
On the day of the pageant, excitement was at an all-time high for everyone involved. Parents and loved ones sat in the audience while volunteers worked hard to support their daughters backstage. The love in the room was amplified by cheer squads assigned to contestants, making them feel like the ultimate rock star every time they were on stage.
The contestants participated in two rounds. The first was a personality round, during which the girls presented their many talents to the audience and judges. Some girls sang and danced, while others showcased their artwork. The second round brought out the glamor with evening wear and a Q&A session with emcees Nicole Krauss, media and community relations manager of Publix Super Markets, and Sheli Muñiz, morning anchor of NBC6 South Florida.
