Are you looking for a career that will make a difference in your life and the lives of others? Arc Broward is looking for a Social Services Specialist to join our dynamic team at Barc Housing, A 36 bed Intermediate Care Facility located in Davie, Florida.
As the Social Services Specialist, you will be an integral part of the person-centered team and will be responsible for the coordination and facilitation in the development and implementation of person-centered plans. The Social Services Specialist is the primary contact and liaison for families, referral sources and other stakeholders.

What Does a Social Services Specialist Do?
- To coordinate and facilitate Habilitation Plan meetings including completing psychosocial assessments.
- Efficiently maintain a current, comprehensive, and organized central and other records for participants. To oversee the release, storage, and destruction of participant records. Maintains records by reviewing case notes; logging events/interactions and progress.
- Has knowledge of and uses modes of communication that are appropriate to the communication needs of participants. Learns and uses terminology appropriately, explaining as necessary to ensure participant understanding.
- Responsibly ensures that adults supported are safe and living healthy lives by monitoring safety issues; practicing appropriate emergency medical and behavioral procedures; responding to emergencies; promoting rights regarding health and safety; and participating in emergency disaster preparedness.
- Effectively enhances team relations by facilitating interdisciplinary team meeting meetings, developing agendas, drafting and disseminating minutes; using effective communication skills; encouraging growth and self-development; facilitating teamwork; employing conflict resolution skills; and providing adequate supports to team members.
- Ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, contractual requirements, and accreditation standards.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or social work.
- 3 years of experience including working with individuals who have developmental disabilities
- Must be able to take and pass all aspects of Professional Crisis Management
- ICF experience preferred.
