20 Hour ABA Training for Behavior Assistants:  In-Person or Zoom

Summary

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) workshop is an extensive twenty (20) hour, two Saturday course. This workshop provides participants with innumerous tools and strategies that address crisis prevention, group contingency, skills teaching, and reinforcements, among others. ABA is presented in an interactive forum, with class instruction, activities and workshops which allow participants to apply concepts and theories to real life scenarios.

Note:

To comply with State requirements, you must attend both classes to meet the 20-hour APD requirements and successfully complete all workshop activities/quizzes….NO REFUNDS

Two (2) consecutive Saturdays in February.

Workshop dates are February 1 and 5, 2025 from 8:00am to 6:30pm both Saturdays with working lunch.  There is a refrigerator and microwaves for your use as you will not be able to go out for food, but can bring your own or order in.

Our ABA workshop is completed during the first two Saturdays of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training.  Participants who wish to develop their skills and knowledge further after successfully completing the ABA Workshop, may register for the next two Saturdays within the same cohort, for the 40-hour RBT training.  Continuation into the RBT training is not transferable to another future cohort.

Who will benefit from this workshop?

The ABA Workshop is ideal for those professionals pursuing Behavior Assistant certification as it fulfills the State training requirements for certification. All teachers will learn invaluable information on how to change, document, and graph behaviors.  Parents and relatives seeking additional information on behavior management would also find this workshop extremely helpful.

Competency will be based on:

  1. Objective written exams covering each content area. Criteria for mastery will be 80% correct.
  2. Practical assessment of role-played demonstrations of competencies denoted with asterisks (*) in the content areas.  Criteria for mastery will be 80% correct.
