Focused Audience:  All in-service trainings are open to Waiver Support Coordinators, Companions, Personal Supports, Residential Habilitation, Supported Employment Coaches, Adult Day, and Behavior Assistants.

Course Description

You will learn how to analyze challenging behavior, gather data, and learn techniques for positive behavior support.

Class Objectives

1. Describe and discuss the purpose of a behavioral analysis.
2. Understand that there is always a function to challenging behavior, and for it to persist it must be meeting a need.
3. Describe the basic elements of the functional assessment process.
4. Discuss the importance of developing a positive and supportive relationships with the person served and understanding the person’s precipitating factors.
