Format: Attend In-person or on Zoom
Attendance: Full participation in all sessions is required to meet the 20-hour APD training requirements.

About the Course
This 20-hour introductory course in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) meets the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) requirements for Behavior Assistants.
Led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with clinical and training experience, instruction is delivered over three consecutive Saturdays, available in person or live via Zoom.
This training is ideal for:
- Individuals working as Behavior Assistants seeking APD certification
- Direct support professionals, teachers, therapists, and caregivers who want to strengthen their ABA knowledge
What You’ll Learn
This course focuses on understanding and applying key ABA principles, including how to:
- Identify and respond appropriately to behaviors
- Use proactive strategies to prevent problem behaviors
- Teach adaptive and functional skills to individuals and groups
- Understand the role of a Behavior Assistant as a paraprofessional in ABA services
- Apply evidence-based interventions and technologies
- Build effective relationships through reinforcement and pairing

- Small class sizes ensure personalized instruction and individual feedback from experienced trainers.
- After completing this 20-hour course, participants can continue for three additional Saturdays to complete the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training—a seamless next step to deepen your skills. (Continuation applies only within the same cohort and is not transferable.)
