Arc Broward Programs Awarded CARF Accreditation for Top-Quality Service

After an intensive accreditation process, all of Arc Broward’s children’s, residential, employment and behavior health programs have maintained CARF-accredited status for another three years. The latest accreditation is the tenth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Arc Broward.  The process required significant effort, strong teamwork, and a commitment at all levels of the organization to providing the highest possible quality services and enhancing the lives of the people it serves. It is also a testament to its commitment to good governance practices. “We are so proud to administer programs that are guided by internationally recognized service standards and best practices. Having this accreditation is a huge testament to the dedication the organization and its staff has to enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their families,” said Arc Broward President/CEO Dennis Haas, Esq. Arc Broward is one of the few nonprofit organizations in Broward County administering CARF-accredited programs. An organization receiving this type of accreditation must complete a rigorous peer review process and demonstrate to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
