Direct Support Professionals are Dedicated and Compassionate Workers

Direct support professionals play an important role in providing support to thousands of people in our community with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). These dedicated and compassionate workers assist with a broad range of activities and they help ensure that individuals with IDD can be active participants in their communities.

The job can be physically and emotionally draining. But the rewards while not necessarily monetary, are great–the ability to work directly with others who, in large measure because of you – have a shot at a meaningful life.

During the week of September 11-17, we have the opportunity to recognize the thousands of direct support professionals in our community who provide essential services to individuals with IDD, and to express our appreciation for the critically important work they do every day.  ARC Broward will be rolling out the red carpet for our DSP’s – they are amazing. Click here to learn more about our DSPs and see what amazing activities we have planned during National DSP Week.

Best Regards,
