The Traveling Plate Finds a Permanent Home at Arc Culinary!
Beloved pop-up supper club comes home to the brand-new Andrew P. Barowsky Culinary Arts Center

Sunrise, Florida (September 14, 2021) – Arc Culinary’s pop-up supper club, The Traveling Plate, has found a home at the brand-new Andrew P. Barowsky Culinary Arts Center!

On August 19, 2021, Arc Culinary hosted a Traveling Plate dinner at its new home within the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Innovation Kitchen. A combination of mid-century classic and modern elegance, this unique venue features a 15-seat Chef’s Table, a living plant wall, refined décor and lighting, a moveable glass wall, sophisticated seating, and an outdoor patio.

Arc Culinary’s Executive Chef, Cristina Lane, and General Manager, David DeLeon, prepared a delectable, multi-course  meal with help from student chefs William and Julie, who are enrolled in the organization’s Entry-Level Culinary Arts Certificate Program. The guest list was made up of Traveling Plate enthusiasts who have attended many dinners since the pop-up supper club’s inception.

The Traveling Plate has been a favorite with local foodies for over 10 years. The unique dinner experience combines the talent of top local chefs with mission-based impact. Revenue generated from each dinner supports scholarships for students completing the program. The nationally accredited program provides students with disabilities and other barriers to employment the opportunity to train for careers in the culinary industry.

“We’re thrilled that the Traveling Plate has found a forever home in the stunning Emeril Lagasse Foundation Innovation Kitchen. The center is a hidden gem that will serve our students and the community for years to come.” says Julie Price, Chief Operating Officer of Arc Broward.

During the August dinner, one of the guests, Sue Picciano, donated an apron with autographs from chefs signed at every dinner over the past 10 years. It was a touching housewarming gift that will hang proudly in the new center.

Arc Culinary completed construction of the Andrew P. Barowsky Culinary Arts Center in September 2020. The new space, located on Arc Broward’s main campus in Sunrise, offers students a state-of-the-art environment for culinary instruction and hands on training. It also affords Arc Culinary, a mission-based social enterprise, the space and equipment needed to expand its food service operations and provide top notch catering to the community, generating much needed revenue to help support services for children and adults with disabilities.
