Arc Broward Expands to Flagler Arts Village

This Employment Training Center and Workplace Diversification Resource
Helps Community Members with Disabilities Reach Their Full Potential

Arc Broward is expanding to Flagler Arts Village with WorkBar, a space that provides Arc Broward members with a vibrant and innovative space where they can pursue career goals, network with members of the business community, attend classes and seminars and receive help from professionally trained career and financial literacy specialists. The space will also serve as a resource for workplace diversification training for businesses to learn how to leverage the skills of those with disabilities and ensure a smooth transition of Arc Broward members into the workforce.

“We are excited to relocate our most progressive service into the urban core of Flagler Village, one of Fort Lauderdale’s hottest neighborhoods,” says Dennis Haas, President of Arc Broward. “This move is intended to support South Florida businesses as they diversify their workforce and embrace inclusion. We are thrilled that our members will have an open and inspiring place where they can gather, flourish and foster connections that they otherwise wouldn’t have found in their quest for meaningful careers.”

WorkBar will open in February 2017 at 735 NE 2nd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale and features a 2,600 square foot center that will provide a productive environment including a schedule of classes and seminars to keep members connected professionally and socially. This space will also house a “members only” internet café equipped with high-speed Internet access, freshly brewed coffee and refreshments; a conference room for formal meetings, a multi-purpose common area.

Arc Broward’s WorkBar will provide professionally trained career specialists mentors to help members, mostly individuals with disabilities, in their career search. Members receive professional guidance and mentorship as they strengthen their position to kick start or reboot their careers.
