On Wednesday, January 9th Arc Broward celebrated the graduation of 16 students from Arc Educates. The event, which took place in the Sunrise Civic Center’s Grand Ballroom, honored students from their Material Handler Program, Culinary Arts Certification Program, and Direct Support Professional Advancement through Training and Education in Human Services (DSPATHS) Program.
Arc students were all smiles as they walked across the stage to accept their diplomas. The heartfelt night was filled with remembrance as previous graduates gave powerful speeches and delivered words of wisdom to the new scholars.
Eager pupils from the Entry Level Culinary Arts Certification Program and the Material Handler Program, which specialize in classroom instruction in the areas of culinary and manufacturing respectively, soon hope to find career opportunities their industries.
The ceremony also applauded Arc Broward’s own employees who graduated from the DSPATHS program. A year long commitment, the DSPATHS program provides state- licensed training and experience-based learning for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and is designed to augment the skills of seasoned professionals and develop skill sets for individuals new to human services or direct care. As a result of this training, Arc Broward employees are able to further their careers within the organization.
