Nezrene Ezell is described as a genuine, dedicated, and humble spirit that is highly respected within Arc Broward. Over the last 24 years with the organization, she has become more than just a staff member, but a part of the Arc Broward family. During Direct Support Professionals week September 8th-15th, Ezell was honored as one of the top five Direct Support Professionals in Florida by the Florida Alliance for Direct Professionals. The Florida Alliance for Direct Support Professionals’ (FADSP) mission is to promote the development of a highly competent human services workforce which supports individuals achieving their life goals.
Ezell is highly dedicated and passionate about her profession and strives to encourage the individuals at Arc Broward to not only be an advocate for themselves, but also for their peers. She consistently takes advantage of continuing education and training provided by Arc Broward including Arc Educates DSPATHS (Direct Support Professional Advancement through Training and Education in Human Services) Certificate Program.
Direct Support Professionals Week is a celebration to recognize the dedication and accomplishments of outstanding Direct Support Professionals and their vital contribution to the communities throughout the country.
This year, Arc Broward nominated Nezrene Ezell, who was selected as one of the five Direct Support Professionals in the state of Florida to receive individual recognition from the Florida Alliance for Direct Support Professionals. Arc Broward hires over 300 Direct Support Professionals throughout South Florida. They have worked hand-in-hand with the community to support individuals with disabilities for over 60 years with 10 locations and 21 programs throughout Broward County, supporting people with disabilities to live and work within their community.
