What Does a SLP Do?

This position is responsible for provision of quality speech/language therapy services including assessment, therapeutic treatment planning and service delivery using best practice treatment modalities for children with Developmental Disabilities to facilitate age-appropriate acquisition of speech, language, and augmentative communication skills, and oral motor and swallowing skills.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized treatment plans; monitoring the progress of each child; evaluating environmental conditions and ensuring that the physical and social environment promotes learning, independence, health,  and stability; demonstrating and modeling effective and therapeutic intervention strategies which reinforce optimal learning and growth; and providing coaching and consultation to staff for continuity and generalization across settings; collaborating with all members of the Team.

Requirements

  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience with children or adults with varying exceptionalities.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
