This is a 4-hour In-Service Workshop that covers:
Class Objectives
Describe the importance and rationale for assisting individuals with disabilities in becoming more connected to their communities.
Describe the three perspectives on community connecting.
Describe the concept of a “Social Guide” and a “Community Builder” and apply these concepts to the role of the Direct Support Professional.
4-hour In-Service
Class Objectives:
1. Explain the direct support professional’s role in meeting the daily personal needs of the supported person.
2. Explain the purposes and processes of assisting a person with oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, shaving and lifting and transferring people safely.
